#IGWritersMay - Day 7 - Writer Dreams

#IGWritersMay is an Instagram hashtag for writers to share their tips and experiences throughout the month, focusing on one topic each day. Created by Cheyanne Young (Instagram @NormalChey), YA author who's working on The Last Wish of Sasha Cade coming Fall 2018.

For Day 7, "Writer Dreams," is to have my novel become a movie, and not just for the fame and fortune (seriously), and not directed and cast poorly like many recent sci-fi movies out there. I mean, all authors would want their works to be brought to life, whether it's through a play or film. However, I'm looking at this dream from a science fiction standpoint. Imagine a world that you've created, science and all, visually generated for others to see. How awesome would that be?

I understand that sometimes having a film adaptation can be a bad thing for a writer. The art of my world and the art of the film production team may differ, just like how my readers' imagination will certainly be different to my perception of Variance. Nevertheless, the film adaptation should have the key elements of my world and its characters that make the story captivating. Unless, the production team just craps all over the screenplay adaptation and hires the wrong actors and actresses.

Anyway, I can dream, right? Here's my social media post for Day 7:

"Catching up with #IGWritersMay to share #writerslife . Day 7's topic is Writer's Dream. It's a dream for my novel to become a movie, well directed and cast of course because we all know a list of bad #scifimovies . I say this not because of fame and fortune, but to be able to share the visualization of the world I built with its #technology and societal #concepts , and how it affects the characters. #writersofinstagram #amwriting#authorsofinstagram #writingcommunity#bookstagram #bookworm #booknerd#bookaholic #SciFi #booklove"
